A visa is required in advance in the Republic of Mali entrance into a country. The following documents are required at the time of an application. Please confirm before an application.

THE EMBASSY OF MALI IN TOKYO IS THE ONLY AUTHORITY ALLOWED TO DELIVER VISAS TO RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES : JAPAN, SOUTH KOREA, THE PHILIPPINES, AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND.

1.Visa Application for Temporary Visitors
To apply for a visa, the applicant is requested to submit the following documents whatever the purpose of the visit.
        Passport
        Three (3) 40mm X 40mm passport-type photos taken within the previous six months.
        Three (3) official visa application forms (download document).
        One (1) photocopy of the passport – the page with the personal data (photo, name, date of birth, passport number, validity of passport etc…) 
 
2.Visa Fees for Temporary Visitors
           Applicants Residing in Japan should either come to the Embassy or send their passport along with the required documents as mentioned above and pay the Visa fee of 7500 Yens in cash (if sent by mail along with a prepaid envelop).
          
            Applicants residing outside of Japan should send their passport along with the required     
           documents as mentioned above and  make a bank transfer in Yens to the Embassy’s bank 
            account (NO CHECK, Japanese banks refuse checks)

 
 The visa cost is as follows:
 7500 Yens (visa charge)
+ 4000 Yens (bank commission of Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ) + Possibly bank commission of your own bank company. Please enquire before making bank transfer, these fees will be demanded anyway to get your visa and risk retarding the procedure
+ 1500 Yens (postage charge)
So for one person: 7500 + 4000 + 1500 =13000 Yens (+ eventually issuing bank commission)
For two persons: (7500*2) + 4000 + 1500 = 20500 Yens (+ eventually issuing bank commission)
 
And so on…

3. Period of validity of a visa
The Embassy of Mali in Tokyo issues multiple-entry visas. Visas validity is 90 days from the date of issuance. So please pay attention the period of sending your documents of visa.
 
4. In case of business trips
Applicants for business trips are requested to submit additional documents such as a letter of recommendation from the company or corporation.
 
5. Medical Certificate of yellow fever vaccination
Applicants are not required to send proof of yellow fever vaccination at the time of visas application. However it is essential to enter the Republic of Mali.
 
6. Time for Visa Processing (Temporary visas)
Applicants Residing in Japan, applying directly at the Embassy of Mali in Tokyo: the visas are issued on the next day, the passport is available after 3pm (Office hours: Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm, closed on public holidays)
 
Applicants residing outside of Japan: it takes about a day to process the visa but the Consular section may only start the procedure once having received both, the passport along with the application forms and the bank transfer. Then the time will depend on the number of days the carrier (the Embassy uses EMS) takes to send the passport back.
